Aaron Rodgers Says Jaylen Warren Isn’t Getting His Flowers, and the Numbers Back Him Up

Aaron Rodgers led the Steelers to a Week 5 win over the Colts, but after the game he wanted to talk about Jaylen Warren, and he took a subtle jab at the media for not doing the same.

As first reported by ClutchPoints, when the subject of Warren’s lack of national recognition came up, Rodgers didn’t hold back: “Yeah, but I mean, they have their favorites, and people they want to talk about, so here’s what it is.”

Warren’s Big Day

Warren put up 188 yards from scrimmage, with 101 rushing yards on 15 carries and 87 receiving yards on six catches. Per ClutchPoints, he became the first player since Herschel Walker in 1986 to score on both a catch of 80-plus yards and a run of 50-plus yards in the same game.

Rodgers was sharp too, completing 22 of 31 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. That’s three straight games with at least three touchdown passes. The win was Pittsburgh’s third of the season, bouncing back from a Week 4 loss to Cleveland.

The IAHHM Take

Rodgers is right. Warren has been one of the most underrated backs in the league for a while, the kind of player who does everything well but never gets the highlight-show treatment. Any time you’re in the same sentence as Herschel Walker, people need to start paying attention.

It’s the same story we see in music all the time: the artist with the real catalog gets overlooked while the industry chases whoever’s trending. Warren is that deep-cut favorite that real fans already know about.

And this Steelers-Colts game had no shortage of storylines. Before kickoff, DK Metcalf answered a question about Sauce Gardner with one word: “Who?”

Is Jaylen Warren a top-10 running back right now? Sound off.
