Meek Mill is throwing a hometown party. The Philly rapper has booked a one-night show billed as “Meek Mill & Friends: Dream Chasers Nights” at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on Tuesday, November 24, Thanksgiving week, as first reported by 24Hip-Hop. The venue’s calendar lists an 8 p.m. start.
Ticket Info
- Presales: Ticketmaster app and artist presales started October 20. A Live Nation presale runs today, October 21.
- General on-sale: Friday, October 23 at 10 a.m. ET.
- Limit: eight tickets per person.
Pollstar reports Live Nation Urban is partnering on the show. As of now, no guests have been announced. The “& Friends” part of the billing is doing a lot of talking, but Meek is the only confirmed name.
The IAHHM Take
This has been a Philly-first year for Meek. 24Hip-Hop points to his Nightmares To Dreams project, a summer set with The Roots at One Philly Unity, and “Philly Heathens,” a record that speaks directly on street violence in the city. He’s also been working on a film project, “YN,” with a producer from “City of God.” A Thanksgiving-week homecoming feels like the natural victory lap.
And let’s be real about that “& Friends” tag. Meek has spent more than a decade building the Dream Chasers brand and connecting with just about everybody in rap, sports and the city’s music scene. A hometown arena show the week of Thanksgiving is exactly the kind of night where surprise guests show up. Who walks out is the whole conversation until the lineup drops.
