Micah Parsons summed up the NFC East’s Week 5 in four words: “It’s been bad ball.” The Packers pass rusher gave his verdict on his old division in an interview with Bleacher Report, as reported by ClutchPoints.
He is not wrong. Not one NFC East team won last weekend. The Cowboys and Eagles both lost, and the Giants and Commanders played to a 27-27 overtime tie after Washington could not convert on the final play of the extra period. Dallas now sits at 2-3.
The IAHHM Take
Parsons talking about the NFC East is never just football talk. He spent the first part of his career in Dallas before landing in Green Bay, and now he is in his second season with the Packers while his former division struggles to put anything together. When he calls it bad ball, Cowboys fans feel that one.
The bigger story for Green Bay is Parsons himself. He is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL and has not been medically cleared to practice, though NFL insider Ian Rapoport reportedly said he could return to practice next week. Even without him, the Packers are 3-2. He will not suit up when Green Bay faces Dallas, which takes some of the edge off a game that already had plenty of storylines.
The NFC North is no joke right now either, with Kyler Murray and the Vikings off to a 5-0 start. Getting Parsons back healthy could decide whether Green Bay keeps pace.
So which NFC East team climbs out of the mud first? And how much better are the Packers when Micah is back on the field?
