Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Colts? Adam Schefter’s Answer Has Indy Dreaming

Marvin Harrison Jr. trade talk just got a lot more interesting. On The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter was asked if the Indianapolis Colts could be interested in the Arizona Cardinals receiver, and he answered with a question of his own: “Wouldn’t that make a lot of sense?” That’s according to ClutchPoints, which also reports that multiple teams are doing their homework on the 24-year-old.

Why the Rumors Won’t Go Away

Arizona is 1-3 after a third straight loss, this time to the New York Giants. Harrison caught a 12-yard touchdown in that game, but it was his only catch on four targets. For a former top-five pick, that kind of usage is how trade rumors start.

Indianapolis, meanwhile, is 2-2 after beating Washington in London in Week 4. The Colts already have Jonathan Taylor, Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and Tyler Warren, so Harrison would be a luxury add. But luxury adds are how teams separate in October.

The IAHHM Take

You can’t write this story without the family history. Marvin Harrison Sr. is a Colts legend and a Hall of Famer, and the idea of his son wearing the horseshoe is the kind of storyline the NFL loves. That’s exactly why Schefter’s answer landed the way it did. He didn’t report a deal. He just didn’t shut the door.

Here’s our view: Arizona shouldn’t be in a rush to give up on a 24-year-old receiver this early. But if the Cardinals keep losing and Harrison keeps getting one catch a game, the conversation changes. If the Colts call, the price will tell you how serious both sides are.

Next up for Indy is a date with the Steelers. Would you rather see Harrison Jr. in Indy blue, or does he need to finish what he started in Arizona? Sound off.
