Lions at Panthers on Sunday Night Football: Two Player Props Worth a Look

Primetime football is back in Charlotte. The 1-2 Carolina Panthers host the 2-1 Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC at Bank of America Stadium, and Forbes’ Josh Shepardson likes two overs in what could be a shootout. Detroit is a 3.5-point favorite, with the total around 50.5 to 51 depending on the book, per Forbes and Sports Illustrated.

Prop 1: Jahmyr Gibbs Over 94.5 Rushing Yards

Gibbs is averaging 102.3 rushing yards per game and has 65 of Detroit’s 74 rushing attempts this season. Carolina’s run defense has been the problem: it allows the most rushing yards per game to running backs (144.7) and the worst yards per carry (5.86), per Forbes. The line was listed at -114 on FanDuel.

Prop 2: Darren Waller Over 26.5 Receiving Yards

Detroit has allowed the most receiving yards to tight ends, 117 per game. Waller has cleared 26.5 in all three games this season even while playing only about 42% of the snaps. Also -114 on FanDuel at time of writing.

The IAHHM Take

As a Carolina outlet, we want the Panthers to win this one. But the injury report is long, with Jaycee Horn out and several starters listed as questionable, per SI. Rain is also in the forecast, which usually means more handoffs. That favors Gibbs. Lines move, so check your book before you play. Heading to the game? Do you trust Carolina’s run defense on Sunday night, or is Gibbs about to eat?
