2k Ponce Juno: Is Bringing the Island Sound to the U.S.
Rising from Staten Island, New York, international recording artists, Sony Music Group artist 2k Ponce Juno, is the new ambassador of Revanche. 2k Ponce Juno was raised by a West Indian culture that gave him a “don’t give up” mindset and attitude that has helped propel him into greatness. And it has more than paid off!
This international hip-hop sensation is also the owner of Ellipse Group Records Global. LLC and EGR Global Music Publishing/BMI, an entertainment music label that is the home of urban music and hip hop.
As a professional entertainer, 2K Ponce Juno has worked with a collection of producers to release his first album titled, “Concrete.” He launched his first project “Chicken Grease n’ Grits” in 2012, “Coolli Bandz,” in 2019, he is back again with a song that is heating up the charts, “Go Pretty Girl Remix,” featuring Beenie Man and Double K. This song was produced by Max and was recently premiered on Hot 97.1 by DJ Drewski, as well as your very own, DJ Digital Chris from Irie FM Ochos Rios Jamaica, DJ Sean Fens from World Music by Streaminn Hub Radio, DJ Motivatah and Suncity 104.9 FM, and DJ Sincere from Drtybsmnt Radio. People from all over the globe who hears this record falling instantly in love with it.
How he got to where he is was nothing short of trusting his instincts? In an interview, he shared that in 2011, he threw a little party for himself and played one of his tracks. It was an old track, something he did in the house. A close friend of his bought a system, and they recorded some music over some beats. He played two of his tracks, but no one knew the song. It was his party, so people were asking him who's the song it was and had nothing but good things to say about it. When he shared it was him, everybody told him should do music.
After throwing a party, he and his friend went to a club and he performed one of my songs and the crowd there was equally as responsive (but more so). He then decided to take it seriously and found a good management team and it has been all uphill since then.
His hard work has certainly paid off. He is now promoting his current remix collaboration, Go Pretty Girl, featuring Beenie Man and Double K. Inspired by his I West Indian culture, he wanted to do this song because he had not done one. In an interview, he shared this song came from out of the blue and that he freestyled the hook and first verse because he didn’t know what he was going to do. When he heard the beat, he let the lyrics come to him. It turned out that the freestyle was what he needed to create exactly what he wanted.
Currently, he has another single out right now called This Life. You can find it on Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital platforms. The video for it is on Roku TV and he is also doing a song and video with a young Jamaican artist and has a few auditions coming up. You might see him in a movie real soon, also. The skies are the limit for this international sensation!
