Kid Cudi Fans Kick Off ‘SUPERFANS,’ a New Concert Podcast With Big Boi and A$AP Rocky Episodes on Deck

There’s a new show built around the people who really keep music alive: the fans. SUPERFANS, a concert-focused video podcast hosted by Billboard executive editor Lyndsey Havens, premieres Tuesday, October 27, and its first episode centers on Kid Cudi fans, as reported by 24Hip-Hop.

How It Works

Each episode takes two strangers who love the same artist and brings them together for a concert. Along the way they talk favorite songs, personal memories and what that artist’s music means to them. Producers say there will be surprise run-ins with artists during the season, though nobody has been named yet.

The weekly season will also follow fans of Big Boi, A$AP Rocky, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids and KATSEYE. Live Nation co-produces the show with Magnet Originals, and episodes will be available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

The IAHHM Take

Starting with Cudi fans is the perfect choice. Few artists have a fan base as personal as his. For a lot of people, Man on the Moon wasn’t just an album. It got them through something. Putting two of those fans in a room and letting them talk is going to hit different than another artist interview.

The Big Boi episode has us curious too. Outkast fans run deep across the South, and a pair of Dungeon Family diehards trading stories at a show could be the best episode of the season.

Hip hop has always been built on community, from block parties to mixtape culture to the group chat that argues about top fives all day. A show that treats fans as the main characters gets that.

So who would you want to be paired up for, and what’s the first song you’d bring up? Tell us your SUPERFANS artist.
