NFL Week 5 Sunday: 49ers-Seahawks, Bears-Packers and the Games That Matter Most

Week 5 kicks off early with a London game and doesn’t let up until Sunday Night Football. Here’s where to point the remote, with times in Eastern.

9:30 AM: Eagles vs. Jaguars (London, NFL Network)

Philly is 2-2 after back-to-back losses and lost Lane Johnson to retirement this week. Jacksonville is 3-1, leads the league at +6 in turnover differential and allows just 13.3 points a game, per Sports Illustrated. Set an alarm.

1 PM: Bears at Packers (Fox)

Chicago (3-1) is running for 196.3 yards a game with Tyson Bagent filling in for Caleb Williams. Green Bay ranks 28th against the run and just lost linebacker Edgerrin Cooper to a season-ending Achilles tear. That’s a problem in the oldest rivalry in football.

4:25 PM: 49ers at Seahawks

The game of the week. Brock Purdy and the 4-0 Niners lead the league in passer rating and haven’t allowed a sack. The defending champion Seahawks (3-1) allow a league-low 246.8 yards a game. Purdy threw four picks against Seattle in three meetings last year, and four of five NFL.com analysts are picking the Seahawks.

8:20 PM: Ravens at Falcons (NBC)

Lamar Jackson is out with an ankle sprain, so Tyler Huntley gets the start in Atlanta. Bijan Robinson has 339 rushing yards and four scores over his last two games. Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons get a big chance at home.

IAHHM Take

Give us Seattle at home. That defense is built to make Purdy uncomfortable, and Lumen Field is the one place he hasn’t solved. The upset to watch is Chicago in Green Bay. If the Bears can run on a defense missing Cooper, Bagent won’t have to win the game. He just has to avoid losing it.

Monday wraps the week with Bills at Rams on ESPN.
