Here we go again. The Dodgers and Brewers meet in the NLCS for the second straight year, and Game 1 is tonight at 8 PM ET at American Family Field on Fox.
The Matchup
Los Angeles is handing the ball to Tarik Skubal. The two-time Cy Young winner allowed one run on two hits over six innings in Game 1 of the NLDS against Atlanta. Fox Sports reports that Milwaukee will counter with Jacob Misiorowski, who has a 1.59 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 17 career innings against the Dodgers. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, last year’s World Series MVP, gets Game 2 Monday.
The Brewers have home-field advantage after a franchise-record 103 wins, the best record in baseball. Jackson Chourio is the bat to watch. He drove in six of Milwaukee’s 13 runs against San Diego and now owns the franchise record with 17 postseason RBIs.
Schedule (ET)
- Game 1: Sun., Oct. 11, 8 PM, Milwaukee (Fox)
- Game 2: Mon., Oct. 12, 5 PM, Milwaukee
- Game 3: Wed., Oct. 14, 8 PM, Los Angeles (FS1)
- Game 4: Thu., Oct. 15, 9 PM, Los Angeles (FS1)
- Games 5-7 if necessary: Oct. 16, 18 and 19
IAHHM Take
The Dodgers have the bigger names, but the Brewers have the better team on paper this year, and they get the extra home games. Misiorowski has handled this lineup before, so Game 1 is closer to a coin flip than the Skubal hype suggests. Our call is Brewers in seven, with Chourio as the series MVP. The kid is built for October.
