New York’s most famous commuter finally got a sneaker. The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 “Subway Rat” drops tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 7, and it is loaded with NYC easter eggs.

The Details
The upper uses rough, shaggy College Grey suede on the toe, side panels, Swooshes and tongue, so it actually looks like fur.
Pink Glaze hits around the Swooshes and midsole, and it sits on a translucent pink outsole. There’s even a pink “rat tail” hanging off the heel.
The New York touches go deep: “NYC” embroidery behind the tongue, pizza slice graphics on the insoles, a yellow MetroCard-inspired hangtag with a blue Swoosh, and pink replacement laces.
Love It or Hate It
This is one of those pairs people either can’t stop laughing at or can’t stop wanting. Either way, AF1s with a full story behind them get people talking, and this one is very New York.
