Maurice Lydell is an American independent Hip-Hop artist and digital creator celebrated for an authentic, grounded style that delves into the intricacies of race, socioeconomic class, politics, and poverty. His upbringing on a military base in Kings Bay, Georgia, fostered a sense of discipline that persisted through his graduation from Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. While he first discovered a passion for writing at age nine, he stepped away from the craft before eventually committing to a music career in 2017. His debut release, “Black America,” garnered critical acclaim for its candid depiction of the contemporary African American experience.
