Texas A&M basketball installed offseason momentum by landing Cade Phillips of Tennessee. This time they added a new talent, but without plucking from a university via the College Basketball Transfer Portal. G-League star Bryson Warren is going back to school with Texas A&M.

Warren chose the Aggies Wednesday, with DraftExpress helping reveal the move. The Aggies gain an intriguing combo guard in the process.

Warren dropped 19.8 points per game last season in the G-League. He added five assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game playing for the Westchester Knicks (affiliate of New York).

The 6-foot-3 talent also previously played for the Miami Heat affiliate (Sioux Falls Skyforce) in skipping college. He’s expected to become eligible to participate in collegiate athletics once cleared by the NCAA. Warren even brings brief NBA experience to College Station, signing a 10-day contract during Sept. 2024 with the Heat.

Texas A&M aims to redeem itself from a March Madness debacle. Neighboring opponent Houston ended the Aggies’ season during the round of 32. Head coach Bucky McMillan vows that TAMU will become better on the hardwood moving forward.

McMillan and TAMU have attacked the offseason immediately in tweaking the roster up. The Southeastern Conference power has added more than Warren and the former Tennessee talent Phillips.

PJ Haggerty bolts from Kansas State to College Station. The 22-year-old is fresh off dropping a career-best 23.4 points per game in his lone season with the Wildcats.

Lukas Walls comes over too from Radford University, where he dropped 7.9 PPG. Warren now hands the Aggies three new backcourt options for 2026-27.
