HULKSICKO! From New York, now lives in Los Angeles so he can focus on his music career and be closer to more opportunities within the industry. He is only getting started but he is already considered an international star with his music being streamed all around the world! With his persistent personality and hustle HulkSicko! is destined for greatness! We were excited for the opportunity to sit down with him and get the inside scoop on his life/career.
Q: Where does your artist name come from?
A: “My artist name is something that I was given and came up with. It’s two words, the first part HULK comes from my teammates because I would still lift even after basketball practice was over. The second part SICKO I came up with my bro Noah, and I just ran with it. I had to add the exclamation so that people could feel me.”
Q: How did you end up in Los Angeles?
A: “I came out here earlier this year on vacation and ended up staying for 4 months longer than expected. After I created a routine and realized I had the right energy around me I knew it was going to be a better fit than New York, for what I want to accomplish.”
Q: How do you describe your style/genre?
A: My genre of music is somewhere in between rapping and singing, I wouldn’t call myself a rapper or singer but I can do both. I’d say I like rapping more because you can talk your shit and tell people how you are living. On the other hand sometimes you gotta sing to express a certain emotion to be able to get that across to your audience.”
Q: What is a random talent or skill of yours?
A: “I can speak chinese! I visited twice and went to ten different cities while there and lived there for a whole month. Before COVID 19 hit I had plans to move to Shenzhen (The Miami of China in my eyes) and work on my music and on my Chinese but things changed and now I’m in Los Angeles.”
Q: When did you really realize that your music deserved to be heard?
A: “It wasn’t until I received a DM from someone in Germany saying they cried to my song the night of her mother’s funeral that I knew I might have a gift. If I could make this random girl in Germany feel this way, I knew I could get the rest of the world to feel the same way.”
