January was a calm month for music which isn't a surprise because most big time artists don't like to drop so early in the year.. unless you're Future, January has been Future's month for a few years now.. we should all know by now that when that new calendar begins, Future is going to bless us.
Future has been on a hell of a run over the past few years and this new album “The Wizrd” is just a continuation of that. Watching the documentary that he released just before the album really put things in perspective with Future and his career, this man lives his music.. he records nonstop and he's always been honest with his lyrics. In the documentary, Future claims to have thousands of songs recorded and is sitting on a plethora of projects.. i'm looking forward to hearing all this music if it's sounding as good as the music we've received. There's 20 songs on here with features from Gunna, Young Thug and Travi$ Scott. I would share my standout songs but they change every time i listen, “Jumpin' On A Jet” is probably the number 1 favorite. I love the feel on this album, the cover pretty much gives you the vibe about what you're about to hear, the life of Future.. this was a great listen.
Toro Y Moi is one of those artists you've heard his music in a department store or heard him featured on a song and never knew.. I love his vibe, he's style is groovy and electronic with some hip-hop elements within his music. This new album “Outer Peace” was next level compared to his previous work. First off, this album cover is incredible and the vibe you get from looking at it is exactly what you'll hear.. just lovely and relaxing sounds on here. 10 tracks on here and they're all amazing. I was listening to this and didn't even realize it was over already, you just want more after that last song. “New House” and “Monte Carlo” are my favorites on here.. definitely give this one a listen.
You know when you hear someone's album you never heard of and their name looks familiar and then you realize they were featured on an album you loved? Bari was on Smino last album, once I realized that I knew this album was gonna be interesting (and by looking at this album cover too) and i was correct. This “MSTRGLSS” project caught me off guard, I love the production on here, it sounds like water and wind chimes were used to make these beats. Sango and Monte Booker are some of the producers with this style, it's amazing to hear. It's a unique vibe on here.. just go and hit play on this.
Here's some other projects you should check out too.
