Jaden Smith’s Album Is Exclusively Available On IG TV

A year ago Jaden Smith released ‘SYRE’. This year, the icon living has dropped SYRE: The Electric Album, a remix of his previous album only on Instagram. This means you will not find it on Apple Music, Spotify, or even Tidal–the app created from Roc Nations Jay-Z. If you go to Jadens Instagram page you will notice his entire page is filled with videos that blend together forming a poster like ad for Syre. It is unlikely many artists will follow this route since there is no money being made off these plays but it does shed light on a new era where rappers have the freedom to release music directly to the fans for free. It also gives Jaden the ability to know exactly how many plays he gets per song. As we move forward in this era of technology and streaming we will see how it impacts the music industry.
