Meet Tykoon, a group full of African-American media youth-led by Gucci P, aspire to be the next iconic media gurus. Founded at Morgan State University and fashioned after legendary entertainment moguls such as Sean Combs, Sean Carter, Kanye West, and Dame Dash, Tykoon balances independence and execution to a pristine level. Their mantra is:
Tykoon Management & Productions is a full-service entertainment company with an in-house creative agency that aims to bridge the gap between talents and their target audiences through quality media, services, music, and live events.
One thing our team loves is supporting fellow creatives who help push the culture of hip hop. Below is our Q/A with the Tykoon team.
1. Discuss the new image at Tykoon?
“The goal of this re-brand is to solidify our standing, offerings, and a new direction in this emerging entertainment industry. Our new slogan reflects the vision we’re aiming to achieve with the re-brand. “Revolutionizing the Power of Quality Entertainment”
Formerly operating as artist management and live events company, as a part of the re-brand the
company has made their management for artists exclusive and now cater to more artists and creatives
around the globe with aims of impacting numerous careers.
2. Biggest influences?
Our primary influence is generally the love for entertainment as a whole, music primarily, and also the care to voice the stories of others.
3. Key Players?
Everyone on the team is a crucial player from the exec team to the general team members. Everyone has a considerable amount of creative input here in Tykoon. On this team, everyone touches the ball before it gets it to the touchdown.
4. Ways you’re adjusting to corona?
With everyone inside due to the quarantine, we’re heavily capitalizing on conquering the digital space. Creating quality content, planning correctly, and keep our audience engaged. We recently launched or Instagram Live platform “Freestyle Mania,” where we have artists from all over come and freestyle for different prizes. We’ve had participants from France, New York, and the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, of course.

6. Who’s the staff of the brand?
We have over twenty young millennials that make up the team. We all have the one goal of voicing the story of other rising creatives.
7. Describe the relationship with Stunna4vegas
Stunna cool peoples when we see each other in public. We acknowledge each other. He was my first interview, so he has this legendary standing within the company. I’d say I have a slighter better connect with his manager TG, we both are Nigerian and he sees where I’m going as a behind the scenes guy himself, so we relate a little more.
8. Describe your current collaborations and partnerships
We recently collaborated with MusicOnTheDot and DMVMusicPlug for FreestyleMania. In the past, I’ve worked with Crown Royal for “Kickin It Wit Gucci P,” where I assist the product awareness through presenting their products to my guest influencers.
9. What are the biggest obstacles in your journey?
The biggest obstacle is maybe getting my family to see my vision vividly. I’m a Nigerian, so I came from a pretty strict upbringing were things like what I do for a living are outside the expected norm, especially as the oldest.
10. Favorite moments?
The favorite moment has to be witnessing DaBaby, Meek Mill, and Megan Thee Stallion under one roof at the 92 Q WinterFeast (an event we assisted in promotion) and got to see history first hand and enjoyed some backstage luxury. 11.Describe your team
Everyone on the team is very goal-oriented and driven. We all see what a lot of other people don’t understand, which is literally what makes us a secure unit. We also come from different backgrounds and come together to accomplish one goal. We’re genuinely one of a kind. I can’t find a team like this!
12. Long term goals.
Our long term goals are definitely to fulfill the most we can independently, with no investors or sponsors as well as impact as many lives as we can. Also, to get rich as well! Haha.
