Gilbert Arenas on the 0-4 Heat: ‘I’m Really Disappointed in Them’

The Miami Heat are 0-4, and Gilbert Arenas isn’t holding back. On the latest episode of The Gilbert Arenas Show, the former All-Star said he’s let down by Miami’s start after the team traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo, as first reported by ClutchPoints.

“I’m really disappointed in them,” Arenas said. “I thought just getting Giannis made everything better.”

He also wondered out loud whether Miami was actually better with Tyler Herro in the mix, and joked about seeing the Heat down 20: “Oh, y’all, Giannis and Bam must not be playing.”

The latest loss was a 113-109 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. Giannis and Bam Adebayo combined for 37 points, 22 rebounds and 14 assists, but ClutchPoints noted Adebayo struggled, going 3-for-10 for 8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The IAHHM Take

Arenas has turned his show into one of the loudest voices in basketball media, and this is the type of take that travels. But he’s not wrong to raise an eyebrow. When you trade for a two-time MVP, nobody expects 0-4.

Still, it’s four games. New stars need time to fit, and Giannis and Bam are still figuring out how to share the paint. The real worry is Bam’s efficiency. If he’s going 3-for-10 next to Giannis, Erik Spoelstra has some adjusting to do.

Miami gets a chance to stop the bleeding Wednesday on the road against the Atlanta Hawks.
