Joe Biden Selects Kamala Harris as Running Mate

 

“She is more than prepared for the job. She’s spent her career defending our Constitution and fighting for folks who need a fair shake,” Barack Obama tweeted.

On Tuesday (Aug. 11) Joe Biden declared Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate for the 2020 presidential political election. Following the declaration, big-name celebrities took to social media life to send their congrats and show their love for her.

“[Joe Biden] can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us,” Harris tweeted following the news. “And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals. I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.”

Support For Harris

Barack Obama sent his vocal support for Harris, somebody who he says is “more than prepared for the job.”

“I’ve known Senator @KamalaHarris for a long time,” Obama tweeted, alongside a touching message he penned to her. “She is more than prepared for the job. She’s spent her career defending our Constitution and fighting for folks who need a fair shake. This is a good day for our country. Now let’s go win this thing.”

LeBron James tweeted, “Congrats and well deserved Sen. Kamala Harris!! Love to see and support it! Appreciate you JB.”

John Legend took to Twitter to show his support for Harris. “Very happy for our friend and Senator and future Vice President @KamalaHarris and very much looking forward to voting for the Biden-Harris ticket to begin the difficult work of recovering from this nightmare presidency and building an even better future,” he tweeted.

Whenever elected, Harris will turn into the first female, Black, and Asian American VP throughout the entire existence of the United States. Biden and Harris will officially acknowledge their Democratic nominations one week from now during the Democratic party convention, which will be held remotely. The two will show up together on Wednesday (Aug. 12) at a public event in Delaware.
