“Book Of Ryan” album review.

Royce Da 5’9- Book Of Ryan

It’s amazing to see how far Royce da 5’9″ has come over the years.. the slow grind and his rapping is just better than ever before and he’s still going at the highest level.. we got PRhyme 2 earlier this year and now “Book Of Ryan“.

21 songs on here with plenty of features from Eminem, J. Cole, Pusha T, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Marsha Ambrosius, Logic, Robert Glasper, T-Pain and more.

Royce starts the album off with some inspirational words.. thankful for being alive.. coming from the past Royce has had, battling alcoholism and now being sober.. along with dealing with his family issues as well. This is definitely Royce’s most personal and detailed album.. if Royce never drops another album (which I hope this isn’t the case) this would basically be his biography to sum up his entire story.. so much depth on this.. full of bars and gems to hold on to.. the skits in this album man.. they gave me chills, speaking to his dad and then switching to speaking to his son.. pretty much showing how Royce’s relationship with his dad is similar to his relationship with his son.. history repeats itself.. very deep.. makes you believe that drug and alcohol abuse is hereditary.

The songs that stood out to me was “Cocaine” and “Boblo Boat“… the story in “Cocaine” is chilling, battling drug abuse and choosing drugs over family.. that “Boblo Boat” beat is the most beautiful elegant sound you’ll ever hear.. Royce and Cole just floating over it.

This album is a lot to take in and digest, give this a listen.
