Getting his name from the streets of Brooklyn, NY from a friend who always thought he was full of positive influence at a young age. Motivated by the fact that he spent his childhood being a menace to society, Black Jesus is seeking to spread Knowledge, Power, Truth and Respect. I am from Wichita Ks.
-When and how did you get into music?
i started to freestyle when I was about twelve years old and then took my crafts a little more seriously when I was twenty-six years old.
-How did you choose your rap name?
I got my name from a friend that moved to Wichita Ks. From Brooklyn NY. In 2004-2005 he called me Black Jesus because I was full of positive influence at a Young Age and said I was older then I was mental.
-What is your motivation?
What motivates me every day is that I spent my whole younger life being a menace to society and when I started to create my lyrical “Floetry” I wanted to spread Knowledge, Power, Truth & Respect and so I stick to what is real and what people can relate too. You will “Never” hear me speak about money cars and clothes. I take title MC very serious for the people who struggle in life to help uplift them with the truth!
-Has there been any time in your journey where you felt like pursuing something else instead of music?
I've always wanted to be apart of Hip Hop since I first heard Uncle Snoop when he made the song “What's My Name” from his album Doggy Style!
-Tell me some of your biggest and/or most enjoyable moments so far?
as I got older I started searching for RAPPERS who I could relate to. I came across the great legendary “SCARFACE” he would become an idol to me till this day. So in 2017 I had the chance to go battle in Houston TX. Against all the locals with a company called “The Showcase Tour” in February 2017 and took second place. At that moment I knew I was supposed to be an MC, by the way, I took control of the crowd!
-What equipment and software do you use to record/produce
I use Presonus studio one Artist 3 to create my Muzik!
-Name 3 things that make you unique as an artist
I think what separates me from the rest is my name “MC Black Jesus” and the way I flow and my lyrics. I won't ever write something unless it has a message because that's what I grew up on coming from Nas, Scarface & MethodMan.
-Where do you see yourself going with this? What are your big plans?
My goal is to reach as many people as possible with my music. I'm not in this for the money but for the love of Hip Hop! I have a job that feeds my family and I just would like to be remembered as the MC who brought back the true meaning of Hip Hop and the love of its Culture.
-Any projects in the works?
I just Released my second Mixtape “A life full of $ins” this September 2017 on Spinrilla.com and DatPiff.com I'm working on my third mixtape for the summer of 2018 called “My Brothers Keeper” features Beretta, BlackGhost, Myra Mical, Cory Milliyunz, LIL E. & Black Picasso.
-What are your rates for features?
My going rate for a feature with me is $100.00 I love Hip Hop so I'll do what I can to be apart of it.
